Day 1: Frankfurt – Würzburg – Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Depart from Frankfurt in the morning on a picturesque drive through the Spessart mountains to Wurzburg, on the banks of the river Main. Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Residence, a masterpiece of baroque architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue on the Romantic Road, to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s well preserved ‘Jewel of the Middle Ages’ and check into your hotel. Later, enjoy a city walk, including a visit of St. Jacob’s Church with the Holy Blood Altar

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with a complimentary drink at the hotel. Afterwards, join an unforgettable tour with the Night Watchman. Overnight.

Day 2: Rothenberg – Augsburg – Munich

After breakfast, check out and continue along the Romantic Road to Munich. Stop at charming villages like Dinkelsbuehl or Noerdlingen and arrive Augsburg. Enroute we shall stop and visit these medieval villages along the romantic road. Continue to the Bavarian capital, Munich. An orientation tour, passing Nymphenburg Castle and the Olympic Grounds, will give you a first impression of this splendid city before you check-in at the hotel.

In the afternoon, enjoy a walk at 5 pm to the ‘Glockenspiel’ (carillon) at Marienplatz. The evening is free to visit the ‘Hofbraeuhaus’ or to attend a concert or an opera. Please just ask your guide! Overnight.

Day 3: Munich – Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Ettal – Oberammergau – Fussen

Breakfast. Check out of your hotel. Depending on the weather conditions on this day, drive to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, one of the most important winter sport towns in Southern Germany at the foot of the highest mountain ‘Zugspitze’. Continue to the Benedectine Abbey of Ettal and to Oberammergau. The village is internationally famous for its Passion Play – generally performed every ten years and for its numerous buildings with tromp l'oeil (Lueftlmalerei) painted façades. Make a short stop at the glorious rococo church in Wies. On sunny days, from there you can see the fantastic Bavarian Alps. Arrive Fussen and check in for overnight.

Day 4: Fussen – Hohenschwangau – Linderhof – Rottenbuch – Fussen

Breakfast. Take a short trip to Hohenschwangau and on the rugged hill above, the breathtaking fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein! After the guided visit, continue to Linderhof on a scenic Alps tour through Austria. Linderhof is the only palace ‘Mad King Ludwig’ lived to see completed. In the late afternoon, return to Fussen after seeing another treasure of rococo architecture, the monastery church of Rottenbuch. Overnight.

Day 5: Fussen – Lindau – Lake Constance

Breakfast. Check-out and head for Lake Constance’s north shore, located between Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Enjoy a walking tour, of the beautiful village of Lindau before arriving at Konstanz. The largest town at Lake Constance with a lot of historical interest, is on Germany's border with Switzerland and is also the birthplace of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, the famous airship pioneer. Check-in at your hotel in the nearby city of Singen. Overnight.

Day 6: Lake Constance – Black Forest – Freiburg – Heidelberg

Breakfast. Check out and drive to the Black Forest, a region known not only for its delicious cake and the wooden cuckoo clocks but also for its spectacular landscapes. Visit a clockmaker and taste the typical cake. Enjoy a drive through the beautiful countryside towards the idyllic town of Freiburg. After a city tour, continue to Heidelberg, the oldest German university town where you will see the inner courtyard of the impressive castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the wine cellar with its big barrel. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the time at leisure. Overnight.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at the famous restaurant Zum Ritter St. Georg, built in the 16th century. Overnight.

Day 7: Heidelberg – Rudesheim – Frankfurt

Breakfast. Check out and leave in the early morning for the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its wines and vineyards. In Rudesheim, board a Rhine river cruiser, passing fascinating, castles, ruins and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Your coach awaits you in St. Goarhausen to take you back to Frankfurt where your exciting journey ends with a small panoramic city tour of Germany’s financial capital. Check in at your hotel. Overnight.

Day 8: Frankfurt

After breakfast, check out of your hotel.
