Day 1: Arrive Colombo and transfer to Kandy

On arrival at Colombo airport, you will be met by our professional local represenative, who will transfer you to Kandy. Enroute, visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. This orphanage is the home for about 60 elephants, out of which some are baby elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. The best time to visit is during the feeding times. You could also accompany the elephants to a river close-by and see them having their daily bath. Check in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Kandy

After your breakfast, proceed on a city tour of Kandy. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts Centre and a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Peradeniya botanical Gardens. This botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers.

In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Museum at the Temple cultural and thereafter witness a featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

After your breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken to Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. You will be told all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Explore Nuwara Eliya during a sightseeing tour. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya – Yala

After your breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Yala. It's northern boundaries border on the Laughable Elephant Sanctuary and it has the added bonus of a scenic ocean frontage. The terrain is varied flat plains alternating with rocky outcrops. The vegetation ranges from open parkland to dense jungle. Water holes, small lakes, lagoons and streams provide water for the animals and birds. The specialty here is the large numbers of elephants. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Yala

Breakfast at the hotel. You have day free for your to explore the city on your own. You can choose to go for a game drive either for early morning, afternoon or a night safari. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Yala – Bentota or Beruwala

After your breakfast, leave for Bentota or Beruwala. Check-in to your hotel and rest of the day is free for you to explore the city on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Bentota or Beruwala

After your sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a day of leisure on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Beruwala - Colombo

After your breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Colombo. Enjoy your Colombo City Tour. Driving through the commercial area of the "Fort" so named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch had a Fort at this point. Drive pass "Pettah" – a noisy Oriental bazaar with a hotchpotch of humanity, ancient vehicles, bargains, mosques & temples. You will drive past and view a Hindu temple, Jumi-Ul Alfar Jumma Mosque, Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf law courts and the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens, Independence Square and Bandaranayke Memorial International Conference Hall. Indulge in a shopping tour of Colombo, including a visit to the departmental store 'House of Fashion' where you will get 'designer' brands at reasonable prices; Lakemudra (antiques) and Majestic City. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Colombo

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to airport for your flight back home with happy memories of your journey to Sri Lanka.
