Classical Jordan Tour – duration: 8 Days / 7 Nights

Day 1: Amman

On arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met by our professional local representative, who will assist you and transfer to your hotel. Day free for you to relax and explore the city on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Amman - City Tour - Desert Castles – Amman

After breakfast, enjoy a conducted city tour and discover the Hashemite Kingdom. See its historic center, its citadel, Roman amphitheater, old mosques, galleries and shops; also see the modern center. Drive east to visit the desert castles - Al-kharaneh Castle, Amra Palace, and Al-Azraq, beautiful examples of early Islamic art and architecture. Overnight at the hotel in Amman.

Day 3: Amman - Um Qais - Ajloun - Jerash – Amman

After your sumptuous breakfast, transfer to Um Qais, the site of the ancient Greco-Roman city of Gadara, a member of the Decapolis, a 10 city Greco-Roman federation created under Pompey the Great, as a formidable means of defense. The New Testament mentions it 3 times. Visit Ajloun’s 12th century Al-Rabid Castle built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants and continue to Jerash, depicting the grandeur of Imperial Rome and one of the largest Roman sites in the world outside Italy. See its magnificent colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, theaters, large public squares, baths, fountains and city walls. Overnight in at the hotel in Amman.

Day 4: Amman - Madaba - Nebo - Dead Sea - Kerak – Petra

Enjoy your breakfast today. Drive to the south along the 5000- year-old King's Highway to Madaba, the City of Mosaics where, underneath almost every house lies a fine Byzantine mosaic. Continue to Mt. Nebo, Jordan’s most revered and holy site, and visit the Bnatine Church and the burial site of Moses. Enjoy a breathtaking view.

Then transfer to visit Bethany the place where Joshua, Elijah and Elisha crossed the Jordan River, Elijah was taken up to heaven, John the Baptist preached and baptized, and Jesus was baptized in Jordan River and started his public ministry. In Bethany see the 3rd century building with fine mosaics and what is known as a Christian "prayer hall." It might be one of the earliest Christian prayer facilities anywhere in the world. Visit the cave where John the Baptist lived, according to numerous Byzantine pilgrims' texts. The cave was turned into a church and a freshwater channel running from the cave, purportedly used by John for baptizing, can still be visited today.

In the afternoon, drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, and the world's richest source of natural salts. Enjoy a swim and float effortlessly in the salty water. Continue to Kerak with its magnificent crusader castle "Crack des Moabites" and drive to Petra for overnight.

Day 5: Petra Tour

After your breakfast, discover the Nabatean city of Petra, the "pink city” carved out of the mountain. Cross the Siq, a 1200 m long, narrow gorge hemmed in by soaring cliffs. Arrive at the stunning Al-Khazneh - the treasury inspired by Alexandrian Hellenistic architecture. Continue to the Street of Facades and the Roman looking Theater but built by the Nabateans in the 1st century AD. Most of it was carved into solid rock and held about 7000 people. At the end of the day, return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 6: Petra - Little Petra - Aqaba - Wadi Rum

Have a sumptuous breakfast today. Check out of the hotel and drive to 'Little Petra', part of a Necropolis city to enjoy the view of the spectacular canyon. Continue to Aqaba, Jordan's only outlet to the sea. Enjoy some free time to swim in crystal clear waters, go diving and see breathtaking marine life, or just relax. Transfer to Wadi Rum, Jordan’s biggest desert. T. E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) wrote Seven Pillars of Wisdom here. View the sunset and enjoy your dinner and overnight at a camp.

Day 7: Wadi Rum – Dana Nature Reserve – Amman

After your breakfast, take a 2 - hour Jeep tour in the desert, visiting 'Burrah Canyon' via Alameleh, Khor um Ishrin, Lawrence House, Siq Lawrence and drive through Dana Nature Reserve to discover its many natural treasures. Continue to Amman for overnight.

Day 8: Amman

After your breakfast, check out of the hotel. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home with happy memories of your journey to Jordan.
